A broad weeping tree with a height of 4 - 6 m. The twigs are thin and the leaves narrow and glossy green. 'Gracilis' flowers in May, producing small white flowers with a diameter of approx. 3 - 4 cm. In the bud they are dark red. The flowers are single. The yellow fruit, that later turns more orange and measures approx. 1 cm in diameter, appears after flowering. The tree makes heavy demands on the soil as regards moisture supply and fertility. For planting in parks and small gardens. 'Gracilis' is only slightly resistant to scab and pretty resistant to mildew. Winter hardiness zone: 3
