Low, broad shrub, with widely overhanging branches if grafted onto a stem. The leaves are palmate and the leaf segments are also dissected nearly to the main veins. The bright green colour emphasises the fine leaf structure and the plant does full justice to its cultivar name. There can therefore be no doubt that ‘Green Lace’ belongs to the “Dissectum” group. On emerging, the leaf is a creamy green. In the autumn, the leaf turns deep yellow, which is fairly unusual as most cultivars turn orange or red.
