The Bobbing Forest was presented as part of the 2016 National Tree Festival in Rotterdam. The ‘forest’ was designed by art producer Mothership and calls attention to issues such as climate change and the importance of greenery in the city. It consists of 20 converted maritime buoys, each holding an elm. For at least five years, the art installation will bob around near the Nieuwe Luxor in the Rotterdam Rijnhaven. Van den Berk Nurseries is sponsoring the project and supplied the elms: Ulmus ‘Dodoens’ in size 25-30. The trees were planted by GKB-Barendrecht.
